CAU Arch Summit 26

The Central Asian University held CAU Arch Summit 26 — an event that brought together architects, urban planners, designers, students, and everyone interested in the future of cities. The summit gathered more than 800 participants and 20 international speakers, with the program structured around three key themes: the role of art in architecture, the identity of Uzbek architecture, and the challenges of contemporary urban planning.

The concluding part of the summit was the panel discussion “Challenges of Urban Planning”. It featured international experts: Ali Mangera, co‑founder of Mangera Yvars Architects (UK); Paolo Matteuzzi, director at Zaha Hadid Architects (UK); Patricia Urlan, business development manager at Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG); Aleksei Muratov, partner at Strelka KB (Russia); Mohammed Nada, urban development specialist at the World Bank; and Hakan Agca, architect and researcher at Cross Works (Saudi Arabia).

The session was moderated by Bahrom Khodjaev, CEO of the architectural consulting company Archiquad Group, underscoring our involvement in shaping the professional agenda of the summit.

The summit concluded with a keynote by Bjarke Ingels, one of the most influential architects of our time and founder of Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG). His projects — such as Google’s headquarters in California, CopenHill in Copenhagen, and VIA 57 West in New York — have set new standards for understanding architecture as a tool for life in a changing climate.

CAU Arch Summit 26 became a platform where global expertise met regional context. Discussions focused on sustainable development, new approaches to urban planning, and the role of architecture in preserving cultural identity. Archiquad’s participation in the expert block emphasized our position: today architecture is not only about designing buildings, but also about finding solutions for the future of cities and society.
